Kerr finished the innings with a four-four-six sequence to surpass former Australian captain Clark's 229 not-out, set against Denmark in 1997.

DUBLIN: New Zealand´s Amelia Kerr hit a world record 232 not out in the third one-day worldwide against Ireland on Wednesday and then took five wickets to complete a remarkable day for the 17-year-old.

The 17-year-old hit 31 fours and two sixes in her 145-ball knock as she led New Zealand to a score of 440/3 in 50 overs.

The teenager's record-breaking innings came less than a week after her unbeaten 81 helped New Zealand to 490-4, the highest team score in all ODI cricket, in the first ODI against Ireland.

Kerr's innings is third highest in ODI cricket, behind Rohit Sharma's 264 and Martin Guptill's 237.

Kerr then took a five-wicket haul (5/17) as Ireland were bowled out for 135 to hand New Zealand a massive 305-run victory.

Kerr and Leigh Kasperek, who scored 113, combined for the second largest partnership of all time in women´s cricket of 295 runs for the second wicket. The record was earlier held by Javed Miandad, who scored a double hundred in a Test match at 19 years and 140 days.

Kasperek posted a career-best 113, including 10 fours, from 105 balls to eclipse her previous best of 21 not out against India in June, 2015. In the 46th over - by medium-pacer Lara Maritz - Kasperek got to her century, while Kerr became the second ODI double-centurion in the history of the women's game. Amy Satterthwaite (61 off 45 balls) and Kerr provided the team with a ideal start, scoring 113 for the first wicket.
