Anthony Bourdain had no drugs in his system when he died

Bourdain, whose career catapulted him from washing dishes at NY restaurants to dining in Vietnam with President Barack Obama, hanged himself in a hotel room near Strasbourg, France, where he had been working on an upcoming episode of his TV series, according to CNN.

Bourdain had been in Kaysersberg, France, filming his CNN show Parts Unknown with Eric Ripert, the chef of Le Barnardin in NY.

Bourdain - who died at the age of 61 - is survived by his 11-year-old daughter Ariane, who is his only child with his ex-wife Ottavia Busia.

According to the New York Times, the autopsy turned up therapeutic traces of an unnamed nonnarcotic medication and nothing else.

RadarOnline.com previously revealed that Bourdain had hung himself with a belt. from a bathrobe while he was alone in his bathroom.

The NYT reports that his remains and travel belongings were sent to Christopher, his younger brother and only sibling.

Bourdain's agent Kimberly Witherspoon said there is no plan for a public memorial "at this time". In the meantime, Gladys is planning to get her first (and likely last) tattoo to memorialize her late son.
