Chris Woakes out of Scotland ODI

England suffer second injury scare ahead of Australia series

While ruled out of contention for the one-off fixture in Edinburgh on June 10, it is hoped Stokes could yet recover in time to feature against Australia later in the month.

But the skipper is expected to be fit to face Scotland this weekend and for the beginning of the five-match ODI series against Australia beginning at The Oval on 13 June.

Woakes's replacement, Curran, comes into the squad, having played five matches at the recently concluded IPL for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Netflix Is Turning 'Stranger Things' Into A Book Series
Several books related to the series will be published next year, according to Deadline , with two arriving this fall and another two arriving next year.

Woakes has been diagnosed with a tight right quad following the innings and 55-run win over Pakistan in Leeds, which squared the series at 1-1.

Stokes suffered a left hamstring tear in the build-up to the ongoing second Test against Pakistan at Headingley and was replaced in England's side for that match by debutant paceman Sam Curran. Woakes is the second player to be withdrawn from the Scotland match after Ben Stokes picked up a hamstring strain. To add to Woakes' woes, his participation in the Australia series has also come under the clouds. The gravity of the issue will now be assessed following which a decision is expected to be made.

The hosts were mauled by nine wickets and the 29-year old's inclusion for the second Test didn't flop by any means.
