Costa strikes as Spain survive Iran scare

Iran vs Spain live streaming: Iran stand second behind Portugal in Group B and they are all set to take on mighty Spain in the last fixture of Wednesday, June 20 at the Kazan Arena with their hopes high to consolidate the last 16 berth.

Spain are now joint top with Portugal on four points after they beat Morocco 1-0 earlier.

Iran, with a victory over Morocco in the first round of pool play, remain in contention to advance to the knockout stage, but the African nation is now only playing for pride with just one match to come, against Spain.

MF Koke, 6 - Replaced Iniesta midway through the second half, providing some more structure to midfield as Hierro looked to protect the 1-0 lead.

Iran had the ball in the back of the net just eight minutes later courtesy of Saeid Ezatolahi, but their wild celebrations were cut short after referee Andres Cunha was advised by VAR that Rezaeian's vital intervention had been made from an offside position.

La Roja were their usual composed selves in possession but were frustrated by Carlos Queiroz's well-organised defence through the opening 45 minutes, with over 80 percent of possession bringing just one shot on target.

Iran went down narrowly to Argentina at the last World Cup with a similarly battling performance only, exhausted by their efforts, to lose 3-1 to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their final group match.

A few more chances followed but luck was not on Iran's side.

Heather Locklear: Why is the actress in the hospital?
The incident happened nearly four months after Locklear was arrested for domestic assault and battery on a police officer. ET and officers transported Locklear to a nearby hospital within two hours of responding for observation.

Fernando Hierro's side had to wait until the 25th minute for their first attempt on goal, David Silva's long-range free-kick comfortably held by Alireza Beiranvand.

78th minute, THROUGH PASS: Collects the ball with plenty of space down the left and finds Costa with a delicious ball around the corner of the Iran defence. "If you have a team defending very deep with 10 players, there is less space, and it is more hard to carry out your game", Hierro said.

Spurred on by their vociferous fans, Iran's imposing players did well to handle Spain's attacks. The Iranians were awarded a freekick which they fail to goal in on!

Diego Costa was involved in bust-ups with Iran's players.

Queiroz has been Iran manager since 2011 and has led them to successive World Cup tournaments for the first time in their history after qualifying for Russian Federation.

"In the first half they were provoking us all the time".

"What game were you watching?"
