Donald Trump fires back at Robert DeNiro: ‘Wake up, Punchy!’

I'm sick of it! Waleed Aly SLAMS Hollywood's elite after actor Robert De Niro's expletive-laden rant against US President Donald Trump

President Trump responded Tuesday to Robert De Niro's expletive-laden rant at Sunday's Tony Awards.

"I guess he does not realize the economy is the best it's ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country", Trump continued, adding, "Wake up, Punchy!"

Representatives for De Niro did not immediately return a request for comment.

The "Godfather" star was bleeped at the Tony Awards when he dropped a series of F-bombs about Trump while introducing Bruce Springsteen.

He said he would move to Italy if Mr Trump was elected, and the town where his great-grandparents lived offered him "refuge" when this happened. "Fuck Trump. It's no longer down with Trump".

China wants UN Security Council to lift sanctions on North Korea
The parents, Fred and Cindy Warmbier, are suing North Korea alleging that the country violated worldwide law by killing their son. You can see that the country has great beaches "whenever they're exploding their cannons into the ocean", said Trump.

The crowd at New York's Radio City Music Hall cheered his remarks, though he was later criticized for stooping to Trump's name-calling level.

In fairness De Niro was pretty aggressive on the Tony stage, taking time away from the biggest awards show for Broadway with his curt, but pointed attack at the president.

De Niro's first prominent act of speaking out against Trump arrived in a PSA video preceding the presidential election in October 2016, when the actor called Trump a "dog", a "mutt", a "con", and an "idiot", and said of then-candidate Trump, "I'd like to punch him in the face".

Next day, appearing at a NOBU restaurant-hotel-condo launch in Toronto, De Niro apologized to Canadians for Trump's "disgusting" blast of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the recent G7.

'I just want to make a note of apology for the idiotic behavior of my president, ' he said.
