Ewan McGregor Will Star in the 'Shining' Sequel 'Doctor Sleep'!

Ewan Mc Gregor to Play Adult Danny Torrance in Doctor Sleep

The sequel will follow Torrance, now in his 40s, who's still haunted by the Overlook Hotel, dealing with a similar drinking problem as his father Jack Torrance.

Stephen King tackled that very question in his 2013 novel Doctor Sleep - and now, Ewan McGregor is in talks to play Danny in the film version of the story.

Although Stanley Kubrick's The Shining became a cult classic, King was famously dissatisfied with the 1980 adaptation, and went on to write his own 1997 television miniseries.

The Doctor Sleep movie was first announced earlier this year with Mike Flanagan (Gerald's Game) attached to direct.

Pollard added another penalty but May scored a stunning try with two minutes to go, cutting in from the right and sprinting clear. Today, Siya Kolisi will follow in Madiba's footsteps down the same tunnel to lead the Springboks into a new dawn.

"Stephen King returns to the character and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance and the very special twelve-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals". Following the success of New Line's "It", every studio with any sort of King IP under its roof has fast-tracked each property into pre-production.

The synopsis for Doctor Sleep reads: "Danny Torrance carries the trauma of the Overlook Hotel into adulthood".

Getting sober revives Danny's powers, and he tries to put them to good use by working with terminally ill hospice patients. At the time, the film was considered a box office disappointment, earning $44 million on a $19 million budget. The actor next stars in Disney's "Christopher Robin", which opens August 3.
