Irish women bare all in record-breaking skinny dip

The annual swim was founded in 2013 by Dubliner Dee Featherstone two weeks after she had a mastectomy to treat breast cancer

They came by the thousands, women of all shapes and sizes, to a secluded beach 31 miles south of Dublin.

Donegal women have played their part in a new world record for the world's largest skinny dip.

Organisers of the "Strip and Dip" say that 2,505 women were adjudicated by a Guinness World Records official to have spent at least five minutes in the water at Magheramore beach.

A total of 2,505 women took the plunge by stripping off and entering the 12 degrees Celsius waters at Meaghermore beach in Co.

This was the sixth year of the annual Strip and Dip charity swim, after it was founded by Deirdre Featherstone when she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Open to women only, participants were made up of cancer patients, survivors and those who had been otherwise affected by cancer.

Real Madrid announce Spain coach Lopetegui as Zidane replacement
Lopetegui is a big fan of De Gea and will likely start the 27-year-old in all of Spain's games in Russian Federation this summer. A club statement said: " Real Madrid CF announces that Julen Lopetegui will coach the first team for the next three seasons".

60 people attended the inaugural swim while numbers grew to 200 for last year's event. "It was awesome. I have never been naked in front of anybody before, except my husband, and it was brilliant and bracing", she said.

One of the participants from Donegal was Bronwyn Walsh.

This year the money raised will go to Aoibheann's Pink Tie, a charity set up in 2010 by Mick Rochford and Jimmy Norman, after Jimmy's daughter Aoibheann died from cancer aged 8 years.

'Aoibheann went to school with my daughter.

Organiser Dee Featherstone, who led Saturday's charge into the Irish Sea, said the numbers exceeded her wildest dreams.
