John Cena Lands Gig In Upcoming Jackie Chan Movie

According to Deadline.com, WWE star John Cena has signed on to appear in the yet-to-be-titled Jackie Chan movie now using the working title "Project X", being directed by Scott Waugh ("Need for Speed"). The makers of the film have not yet announced the release date of this untitled project.

The script for the movie will be penned by Arash Amel, and the story "follows a Chinese private security contractor who must help get oil workers out of peril when the refinery is attacked in Baghdad". Cena is replacing Sylvester Stallone, who was originally tapped to star alongside Chan.

Chan's character learns that the real plan is to steal a fortune in oil so he teams up with an American (played by Cena) to stop them.

Which team are you supporting in the 2018 World Cup? According to Deadline, the actors will co-star in an upcoming thriller tentatively titled Project X, directed by Need for Speed and Act of Valor filmmaker Scott Waugh.

It will be interesting to see whether the innovative Chan asks Cena to display some of the moves and stunts he's learned in a WWE ring.

In addition, John Cena is also set to star in the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee and Universal's The Jason Directive, which is being produced by The Rock.
