PUBG Announces Event Pass, Steam Sale

PUBG itself is now discounted by 33% on Steam, dropping from the usual and long-time $29.99 price point for the first time ever.

Developer PUBG Corporation noted that over 50 million units of PUBG have been sold across the PC and Xbox One to date, and obviously with this price reduction it's hoping to expand the player base further.

To celebrate these new milestones, we're putting PUBG on sale on Steam from June 19th (later today!) through July 5th.

The Event Pass drops on the next scheduled update for the game on June 22, which also introduces the new map, Sanhok. The studio has spent a lot of time testing and refining Sanhok on the Experimental and Test Server builds of PUBG, but now it is finally hitting the live version of the game.

Fox set to decide on Comcast’s $65-billion cash bid
Fox's share price was trading at $44 early on Wednesday morning, indicating investors believe a bigger bid is likely. Last week, a judge signed off on AT&T's purchase of Time Warner, the parent company of CNN.

Players will be able to "temporarily" unlock "many" pieces of content from the pass for free, but you'll need to purchase the Event Pass to permanently unlock the full selection of new cosmetic items. If you're hesitant about buying the Pass, but want to play the missions, you're free to do that. If you haven't paid for the pass, you can temporarily unlock numerous items (and earn one special item permanently).

The Event Pass lasts about a month and includes "dozens of missions, including daily missions, weekly missions and Sanhok-themed missions". However, you can also permanently unlock a ton of exclusive reward items by paying to unlock the pass and completing certain missions to "level up" your pass. Moreover, the rewards aren't tradeable so the only way to get them is to play the game.

If this all works out for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, you can guarantee PUBG Corp will be treating its staff to a chicken dinner.
