Trump, Kim agree to repatriating US military remains

Leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump

According to the Pentagon's Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, most missing Americans died in major battles or as prisoners of war in North Korea.

In an interview with Sean Hannity of Fox News, Mr. Trump said he's certain that his warlike rhetoric a year ago against North Korean leader Kim Jong-un convinced Mr. Kim to negotiate over giving up his nuclear weapons.

In a joint statement signed by the leaders, the countries committed to the recovery of the remains and the immediate repatriation of those already identified. The sanctions will remain in force until full denuclearization, the USA president said, noting that he is "looking forward" to it. "Now the hard work to bring the initiative to fruition begins".

"In addition, the charter of a Chinese airplane may have an effect of publicizing China's active support and cooperation to the North Korean people ahead of summit talks with the U.S".

"Building upon the agreement reached today, we will take a new path going forward. We will be there together with North Korea along the way", Moon said in a statement.

Daimler ordered to recall over 200,000 diesel cars
Daimler has previously clashed with the KBA's findings regarding diesel emissions, and has maintained it has done nothing wrong. Otherwise, "car firms will continue to stumble into the future and watch as their reputations are destroyed", he warned.

"Well, I think without the rhetoric, we wouldn't have been here", Trump said of the summit.

"When the South-North relations improve, we will push first for the recovery of remains in the Demilitarized Zone", the 154-mile-long, 2.5-mile-wide area separating the two Koreas, Moon said.

Almost 7,800 American troops remain unaccounted for from the 1950-53 war in the Korean Peninsula.

Analysts generally agree that a series of stringent economic and financial sanctions against North Korea, led by the United States with China's support, have played a big role in Kim's sudden embrace of diplomacy in the past six months after his repeated nuclear provocations.
