Uber Tech Could Tell If You're Smashed Before You Get into auto

Uber turns to A.I. to identify drunk riders

The app will be using the artificial intelligence features with the help of which the company will also offer passengers a chance to determine the unusual behavior of the drivers at the same time. The time of day the ride is requested and pickup location will also be factors in the final outcome.

Rideshare giant Uber has applied for a patent in the United States, for software that will develop the ability to detect intoxicated passengers using machine learning.

Uber patents tech that would identify drunk passengers before they get in the vehicle by analyzing a number of factors.

By looking at the angle a phone is held at or how a person is walking the system could work out when an Uber user has had a few too many sherries.

Uber wants to be able to tell you when you've had too many drinks.

Furthermore, passengers might not be given the option to be included in a shared ride, based on their state, and as for Uber drivers, drunk passengers is notably a drawback of the job.

Farrah Abraham Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Beverly Hills Hotel Employee
And on top of all this, their source tells them that Farrah was trying to pull the "celebrity card". Us Weekly has reached out to Abraham and the Beverly Hills Police Department for comment.

"It could lead to the possibility of some drivers avoiding drunk passengers and in the worst cases 'drunk hunting".

"It would be cool if drivers got extra money for picking up drunk passengers".

Using this information, Uber may change the service offered to the user.

'It could mean that they offer different pricey for drunk passengers, which means Uber could take advantage of a users state to charge them more'.

According to Uber, knowing whether a rider is drunk or exhausted could help prevent issues with a trip.

The patent adds that Uber drivers could be warned of a passenger's state before they're picked up, letting them prepare for the journey in advance.
