After a week of walkbacks, Trump returns to doubting Russian election interference

President Donald Trump's administration remains under scrutiny over potential ties between his associates and Russia in the run-up to the presidential election

In March 2017, before news of the FISA warrant became public, Page sent a letter to the Senate intelligence committee saying he may have been wiretapped during the time he spent at Trump Tower for the campaign.

The FBI on Saturday released a redacted version of its previously classified foreign surveillance warrant application on Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page, which has been the subject of a heated partisan debate over the FBI's tactics investigating members of the Trump campaign. The main reason they issued the warrant was the dossier prepared by Mr. Steele. "If you were really tough with Putin, he would not be doing what he is doing", Graham said.

But lawmakers from both political parties said that the documents don't show wrongdoing and that they even appear to undermine some previous claims by top Republicans on the basis for obtaining a warrant against Page. Mr Trump has labelled the investigation a "witch hunt". The FBI cited additional evidence, an article written by Michael Isikoff for Yahoo news, but failed to disclose that Isikoff received his information from Christopher Steele, the ex-British spy who authored the dossier.

The heavily redacted documents were released after a week of head-scratching developments related to Trump's posture toward Russian Federation. "Carter Page was just the foot to surveil the Trump campaign".

"I think that the United States of America sometimes has to meet with people that we don't have anything in common with", he said, adding: "But it's very different to issue an invitation" which "should be reserved, I think, for our allies like Great Britain and Canada and Australia and those who are with us day in and day out".

"This is many, many people over two administrations, four judges appointed by Republicans, over and over, believing that you were an agent of a foreign power".

U.S.net imports that measures its imports deducted by its exports is a very important value for the oil price movements. The higher differentials between the two major benchmarks are, the more arbitrage opportunities for traders to pursue.

Mr. Rubio said Mr. Page was a guy "on their screen before the campaign".

Rubio (R-Fla.), the author of a bill that would impose severe sanctions on Russia if it were determined to have interfered in a USA election, said Trump should approach meetings with Putin without illusions about the Russian leader's endgame.

Page said the claim that Divyekin offered compromising material on Hillary Clinton was "preposterous". It means that the Federal Bureau of Investigation presented unverified campaign opposition research to FISA court judges to spy on Page, and the judges signed off on the applications. "An "agent of a foreign power" is one who "knowingly aids or abets any person", or "knowingly conspires with any person", to "[engage] in clandestine intelligence gathering activities for or on behalf of a foreign power", or "pursuant to the direction of an intelligence service or network of a foreign power, knowingly [engage] in any other clandestine intelligence activities for or on behalf of such foreign power, which activities involve or are about to involve a violation of the criminal statutes of the United States", or "knowingly [engage] in sabotage or worldwide terrorism, or activities that are in preparation therefor, for or on behalf of a foreign power".

Diveykin, and said Diveykin never told him that the Russians had dirt on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

'I think that's different from spying on a campaign, in fact that the Trump campaign has said on numerous occasions that Carter Page was not a major player in their campaign'.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement: "Despite President Trump's repeated claims, these documents provide clear evidence of 'Russia's coordination with Carter Page, ' a high-ranking Trump campaign official, 'to undermine and improperly and illegally influence the 2016 US presidential election'".
