Astros' Ken Giles cursed out manager for pulling him from game

Watch: Astros' Ken Giles cursed out manager for pulling him from game

Former Phillies relief pitcher Ken Giles was optioned by the Astros to triple-A Fresno on Wednesday.

Back on May 27, Giles was given an 8-3 lead vs. Cleveland in the ninth inning before allowing three earned runs as part of an Indians rally. As manager AJ Hinch came to the mound to remove him, Giles appeared to curse Hinch out, saying, "F- you man".

It was the second major outburst of the year for the right-hander, who punched himself in the face as he left the mound after another bad performance earlier in the season.

All three runs scored and Oakland tied the game 4-4, which ultimately forced extra innings.

Couple on honeymoon collide in fatal zip line accident
The couple disembarked the ship on July 5 to partake in a zip line excursion on the island of Bahia near Roatan, Honduras. The couple booked the Extreme Caribe Zip Line Tour through the Royal Caribbean website, according to a local firefighter.

The Astros have recalled left-hander Cionel Perez in a corresponding move. I didn't hear anything.

The demotion comes as Giles' poor season continues. When asked about it after the game, Hinch said he'd have to ask Giles if it was directed at him. He is 0-2 with a 4.99 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, striking out 31 batters in 30.2 innings.

Between those two games and the one Tuesday, Giles allowed 10 earned runs while tallying one out. He's had just one save in nine appearances since June 17.
