Bill De Blasio Reportedly Crossed US Border Illegally, CBP Says

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio speaks alongside a group of other U.S. mayors during a news conference outside a holding facility for immigrant children

"The mayor crossed the border with the direct approval and under the supervision of the border patrol supervisor at this port of entry", de Blasio spokesman Eric Phillips said in an email Tuesday night to the AP.

As mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio has frequently shown a blatant disregard for U.S. immigration laws, but he may have taken it a step too far by illegally crossing the U.S. -Mexico border on foot, according to The Associated Press.

But the mayor's office contended that de Blasio had permission to cross the border.

More than 2,300 families were separated as a result of the administration's zero-tolerance policy, which criminally prosecutes anyone caught crossing illegally. The mayors said Trump had failed to address a humanitarian crisis of his own making.

De Blasio went to a holding facility for immigrant children but was denied entry. The agent asked if anyone from Border Patrol or public affairs was there to authorize their presence.

The agent then claims that when they approached the group and asked if they were authorized to be in the area, a New York Police Department inspector had said no.

Multivitamins have no impact on heart health, researchers claim
Doctors say the best way to stay heart healthy is to exercise, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and don't smoke . Multivitamins are popular, but they don't appear to boost your heart health , according to a new study .

The agent reportedly asked the group if anyone from Border Patrol was there to authorise the visit and asked how they had arrived.

The agency alleged that de Blasio and his security detail violated both countries' border laws on June 21 when they illegally crossed into Mexico - and then back into the US - on foot near the El Paso, Texas, port of entry.

De Blasio said the agents checked with their supervisor before allowing the officials' cars to exit and return via normal checkpoint.

"It's happening right here, in our name, with our taxpayer dollars, and we got to stop it right away and if the federal government won't answer it, I really do think it's up to all of us, city by city to find any solution we can to reunify these families", de Blasio told Maddow. The agent informed them that they had entered the country illegally, at which point they drove back into Mexico.

The government had been bound by court order to reunite children aged five and under by 10 July, but U.S. officials say that "legitimate, logistical impediments" are delaying reunions for numerous 102 children under five years old. "So now, trying to get the focus off a policy literally called 'family separation, ' they're trying again to distract".
