Charles Oakley arrested in Las Vegas after allegedly cheating at casino

Former NBA forward Charles Oakley was arrested Sunday after he was caught on camera allegedly cheating at the Cosmopolitan, a Las Vegas casino.

It's not known what game Oakley was playing at The Cosmopolitan, but TMZ reported the incident was captured on surveillance video. The Clark County Detention Center confirmed Oakley had been arrested but has since been released. According to TMZ Sports, Oakley "was suspected of adding to or reducing his wager on a gambling game after the outcome was known".

Oak, 54, was confronted about the incident and after a security team reviewed the casino's video footage it was determined that he had cheated. The charge carries a possible prison sentence of one to six years if he is convicted, though a source close to Oakley told TMZ the issue is "insignificant" and will be resolved quickly.

Oakley played 19 seasons in the National Basketball Association, 10 of which were with the Knicks, before retiring in 2004 with the Rockets.

Oakley now serves as a head coach in Ice Cube's three-on-three league, BIG3. Dolan suggested Oakley was drunk and heckling him, and Oakley was arrested for assault, harassment and trespassing. Oakley later agreed to a plea deal to have the charges dropped and subsequently filed the civil suit.
