Croatia star shouts home town's massive Cup bar tab

World Cup Semi-Final: England V. Croatia, Winner Will Play France

England got off to a hot start in its World Cup semifinal match against Croatia on Wednesday.

As they entered the second half of extra time against England with the scores level, it began to look like they would need to step up to the spot again, until Mario Mandžukić scored with 11 minutes to play.

The lone fan wearing a Croatia jersey, who watched with a co-worker donning an England shirt, said there was a great atmosphere in the room during the match.

The World Cup in Russian Federation has thrown up some stunning twists, turns and shocks, so it's perhaps fitting that its final game will feature the smallest nation to appear in the last stage of the tournament since 1950. I don't say it's a miracle because we played well but because only big teams can be so fearless and play a tournament like this with a heart.

Croatia came from behind to win 2-1 in the semi-final clash in Moscow, with Mario Mandzukic claiming the victor in the 109th minute after Ivan Perisic had earlier cancelled out Kieran Trippier's free-kick opener. "We will see after this practice session", he said.

"It's been an incredible run and I feel lucky to have been here for this match".

England manager Gareth Southgate sparks waistcoat craze
Everyone has been out on the streets celebrating what we've achieved and that is a great source of pride for us. England will face Croatia on Wednesday in their first World Cup semi-final match since 1990.

As the Croatian side celebrated the monumental goal, they moved towards an area of the sideline that did not have a barrier between the field and the photographers covering the game.

John Stones has been England's third-biggest attacking threat at this World Cup, being on the end of 1.45 xG, and scoring twice from the chances he has had.

"We'll be there and it's a once in a lifetime opportunity seeing them in the World Cup". If I'm honest, I don't think there are many England players who would get into this Croatian team.

Most England fans were gracious in defeat, with one fan saying "Croatia was the better team" on the way out.

Despite a valiant effort, the team will come home without the Jules Rimet trophy after losing the semi final 2-1 to Croatia.

If they win, they head to the final against France.
