U.S. President Donald Trump began talks Friday with British Prime Minister Theresa May at her retreat in Chequers, after a rather frank interview he gave to a newspaper that renounced her Brexit plan.

"We will do a trade deal with them and with others around the world", May said.

Trump had said that May's plan would "probably kill the deal" as it would mean the USA "would be dealing with the European Union" instead of the UK.

"We agreed today that as the UK leaves the European Union we will pursue an ambitious US-UK trade deal", May said today at a news conference with Trump at Chequers, her country estate.

"She said: 'Don't worry it's only the press.' I thought that was very professional".

However, the USA president said he wanted May to ensure there are "no restrictions" to trade, in the latest sign that the United Kingdom would have to lower its standards in areas like agriculture in order to strike a wide-ranging trade deal with the US. "This is an incredible opportunity for our two countries and we will seize it fully".

Protests took place outside the Blenheim grounds in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, with several hundred demonstrators waving banners and placards reading Dump Trump, Not Welcome Here, Protect Children Not Trump and Keep Your Tiny Hands Off My Pussy!

Seated alongside the Prime Minister, Mr Trump appeared ready to adopt a more conciliatory tone as he sat down for talks at Chequers in Buckinghamshire.

"I'm confident it will happen, and the trade between our two countries is so important that it will be in our mutual interests to have a trade deal between the United States and the UK".

Former Celtic Isaiah Thomas signs in Denver
Free agent Isaiah Thomas signed with the Denver Nuggets late Wednesday night, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. He was traded to Cleveland last summer along with Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and a pair of picks for Kyrie Irving .

"I would have done it much differently".

'I actually told Theresa May how to do it but she didn't agree, she didn't listen to me.

Younger voters - 18-34-year-olds - backed Mr Trump publicising his views on Brexit by 54% to 40%, compared with opposition by 51% to 46% among those aged 55 and older.

He also told the tabloid that he had shared advice with May during Britain's negotiations with the European Union, but said May ignored his advice.

"Fortunately, we tend to record stories now so we have it for your enjoyment if you'd like it", he said. "She said: "Don't worry, it's only the press".

May's office said it would not comment on The Sun article during a greeting when Trump met May at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to review a military exercise.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan gave the greenlight to activists to fly a giant balloon depicting an orange baby Trump throwing a tantrum during the US president's visit. It was one of the more than 100 demonstrations planned across the country during his four-day stay. "I think it is important for him to see it.it will show the people that he is prejudiced against that we are behind them". I like Boris Johnson, I've always liked him'.

Trump has also frequently angered British politicians and has been involved in social media spats with London's Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan who he said had "done a very bad job on terrorism". The comments infuriated some of May's Conservative Party colleagues, including one who tweeted, "Where are your manners, Mr. President?" and another who chided Trump for diminishing "the standing of the great country he is meant to lead". He and First Lady Melania Trump are scheduled to have tea with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle in the late afternoon.

The British government on Thursday published its long-awaited Brexit blueprint aimed at restarting stalled talks with the European Union, only for it to be panned by eurosceptics, the City of London and the U.S. president.

The president spent the night at the U.S. ambassador's residence located in a London park behind a "ring of steel" fencing, stalked by noisy demonstrators.
