Donald Trump ‘baby blimp’ not allowed to fly over Turnberry
US President Donald Trump arrived in "hot spot" Britain on Thursday after casting doubt on Prime Minister Theresa May's plans for leaving the European Union and with protests planned across the country where he says the people like him a lot. Vince Cable, the leader of the pro-EU Liberal Democrats, said, "Most of us don't think he is particularly good judge on Brexit or anything else".
In a press conference this morning, Trump said he is "fine" with the mass protests planned in the country and that Britons like him "a lot".
Rarely has a foreign leader been so mocked on an official visit - London's mayor, Sadiq Khan, a Muslim who has challenged Trump's worldview OK'd the balloon, which is an apt symbol of Trump's tempestuous relationship with Britain, traditionally the United States' closest ally. She's planning to attend anti-Trump protests.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, the author of "Trump's America", said parallels can be drawn between Churchill's years in the wilderness during the 1930s and Trump's emergence in Republican politics from outside the establishment.
The trip includes meetings with Prime Minister Theresa May, who has described the USA as Britain's strongest ally, and is determined to secure a trade deal after the country acts on Brexit and leaves the European Union in March 2019. Thousands of protesters were expected to gather outside the luxurious residence later Thursday. But instead of attending business in London, which is what most heads of state who arrive in the United Kingdom do, Trump will head to a business sector gala at Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill which is outside the city. The president said on Tuesday, "I think they like me a lot in the United Kingdom".
Mr Trump will meet the US Ambassador at Winfield House after arriving and then head to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.
A high metal fence has been erected around the US ambassador's central London residence where Trump will spend Thursday night and the embassy has sent out an alert warning Americans in London to keep a low profile in case protests turn violent.

He is due to leave Britain on Sunday for talks in Helsinki the following day with Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose government stands accused by May's of unleashing a lethal nerve agent in the city of Salisbury.
