Duterte sees lowest rating since becoming president

It added, however, Duterte's rating was up in classes A, B, C, and E.

Net satisfaction in class D or the "masa" meanwhile fell by a grade from "very good" to "good" at +43, lower by 14 points from +57 during the first quarter. It stays "very good" among class ABC.

During the previous survey in March, Duterte earned a +56 rating, classified as "very good".

Satisfaction in Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte fell to the lowest of his presidency since coming into office in 2016, an independent survey showed on Tuesday.

The survey was conducted from June 27 to 30 through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide.

The survey was taken during the week when Duterte attacked the Catholic Church and called God "stupid" after bishops and priests criticized the killing of drug suspects in the government's anti-narcotics campaign. The backlash led Duterte to form a 4-man committee to dialogue with religious groups.

The president was unfazed by the drop in his ratings. Duterte had enjoyed high satisfaction ratings since coming to office, peaking at 66 in June 2017. He suffered 6-point decreases in Mindanao and Balance of Luzon.

As for Balance of Luzon and Mindanao, he retained his grades of "good" and "excellent" respectively, despite the decline.

The couple disembarked the ship on July 5 to partake in a zip line excursion on the island of Bahia near Roatan, Honduras. The couple booked the Extreme Caribe Zip Line Tour through the Royal Caribbean website, according to a local firefighter.

SWS terminology for net satisfaction ratings are translated as follows: +70 and above as "excellent;" +50 to +69 "very good;" +30 to +49 "good;" +10 to +29 "moderate;" +9 to -9 "neutral;" -10 to -29 "poor;" -30 to -49 "bad;" -50 to -69 "very bad;" and -70 and below "execrable".

There was also more dissatisfaction over Duterte in the urban areas than in the rural parts of the country.

Urban net satisfaction with Duterte fell by one grade from "very good" to "good", at +38, down by 18 points from +56 in March.

Rural net satisfaction, however, stayed "very good", at +52 despite a four-point decline from +56 in March 2018.

Class D Filipinos, or the economic class that makes up the bulk of voters, are not as satisfied with the populist President. This led to a lower grade of "good" from "very good".

It went down from very good to good among those 55 years old and older, at +44 (65 percent satisfied, 22 percent dissatisfied) in June 2018, down by 10 points from +54 (67 percent satisfied, 13 percent dissatisfied) in March 2018.

It also stayed very good among non-elementary school graduates, at +50 (67 percent satisfied, 17 percent dissatisfied) in June 2018, although down by eight points from +58 (70 percent satisfied, 12 percent dissatisfied) in March 2018.

Duterte, later on Tuesday, brushed aside the survey results. It does not interest me at all. And with the new suggestion, since I'm not popular anymore, Congress might decide to find a popular one.
