Dwayne Johnson: I Am ‘Absolutely’ Considering Running For President

Dwayne Johnson: I Won't Run For President In 2020

Presidential aspirations could be in Dwayne Johnson's future, but it won't happen right away. During the appearance Colbert brought up an old Tweet from The Rock that he issued out an hour before then-President Of The United States Barack Obama announced Osama Bin Laden had been killed. "Just got word that will shock the world - Land of the free. home of the fearless DAMN PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!" was the social media message The Rock posted foreshadowing then-President Barack Obama's announcement. Still, telling an intimate family story while your hero battles bad guys high above the ground is a tall order, which is why when we had a chance to sit down with both Thurber and Dwayne Johnson we wanted to know how they managed to walk that fine line without falling. When I tweeted that, I was told that the president was just about to walk on at his press conference in 30 seconds.

Johnson also said that he's serious about running for office someday, but maybe in 2024 or 2028.

When asked about the fan campaign for The Rock to become president, Johnson says he takes it very seriously.

Chelsea sack manager Antonio Conte after two years in charge
Sarri is a big fan of the striker, who played under him at Napoli, and Chelsea want to add more firepower to their squad. Conte's volcanic intensity also alienated some insiders, including leading players whose discontent filtered out.

"It kinda picked up this steam, and when it picked up this steam a lot of the American public kind of thought, 'That's a great idea!'" "So when that started picking up, of course when I'm asked, yes, I have incredible respect for our people and our country, so I would consider it", Johnson clarifies. "Of course, I would. What I need is time to go out and learn". Although there to promote his film and have a good time drinking tequila and singing with Colbert, Johnson also dropped an interesting tidbit.

The actor continued that gaze into Colbert's eyes as he sang a Samoan song, which you can see in the video above.
