House Committees Will Interview Lisa Page This Week

Peter Strzok and Lisa Page

Page's attorney told Fox News on Tuesday that despite being subpoenaed, Page won't appear for a private interview with the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees.

House Republicans have suggested the Federal Bureau of Investigation was conspiring against Trump during and after his presidential campaign, and the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees are investigating the agency's actions.

But her lawyer said Page will testify at some point. "Congressional subpoenas for testimony are not optional". It was then that he heard the news that she may defy the subpoena and refuse to testify and condemned it as a "total disgrace".

"She could go to jail if they really want to press it for blowing off", Napolitano said.

House GOP lawmakers dispute Jeffress's exact timeline, arguing she had all the information she needed for an unclassified interview earlier in the day.

"Together with her lover, FBI Agent Peter Strzok, she worked on the Rigged Witch Hunt, perhaps the most tainted and corrupt case EVER!" wrote the U.S. President.

Democrats did not say what Strzok's responses to any of the questions were, but they did call for the full transcript of the meeting to be released by Republicans.

Sen. Warner asks intelligence chief if Trump's North Korea claims are true
North Korea's failure to show up to the meeting follows a tempestuous week in the ongoing denuclearization talks with Washington. There is speculation that North Korea may also want payment for the return of the remains, our correspondent says.

Two former Federal Bureau of Investigation officials who worked on the Russian Federation probe may be getting "cold feet" ahead of planned appearances on Capitol Hill this week, US President Donald Trump claimed in a tweet on Tuesday. The DOJ watchdog published a report last month that revealed messages between Strzok and Page which suggested the two of them, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, would try and stop Trump from getting elected.

Page's lawyer said the committee issued the subpoena on Saturday, July 7, and would have been asking her about material her lawyer said she had not yet been shown.

Mueller, a registered Republican who was appointed by Republican deputy attorney general Rob Rosenstein to investigate.

But it also outlined conversations between Strzok and Page that had never before seen the light of day. Trump tweeted late Wednesday.

In one message on August 8, 2016, Strzok reassured Page that she needn't worry about Trump winning the White House. Both were removed from the Mueller probe a year ago after the Justice Department's internal watchdog made the special counsel aware of the anti-Trump messages. Right?!' Page texted Strzok.

Page and fellow Federal Bureau of Investigation employee Peter Strzok were involved in an extramarital affair.

Strzok was interviewed in closed session with lawmakers for 11 hours last month and his lawyer has asked the transcript be made public.
