Hungover golfer Eddie Pepperell finishes tied sixth at The Open

Pepperell

One time clubhouse leader Eddie Pepperrell has admitted that he was "a little hungover" during his final round 67 at The Open in Carnoustie.

As he explained after a round of five birdies and only one bogey: 'I was a little hungover, I won't lie.

Here's his complete quote, per ESPN's Darren Rovell. "I had too much to drink last night".

Hopefully he stays ready, just in case. He shot a four-under 67 (his best showing of the four-day tournament) and charged up the leaderboard to put himself in the running on the final day.

Disgusted by his third-round performance, Eddie Pepperell chose to hit the bottle on Saturday night and with a throbbing head proceeded to shoot a four-under-par 67, comfortably the best score of the final round.

Donald Trump slams U.S. media, says had ‘great’ meeting with Putin
The president was asked what he said to Putin, and he replied that he was "very strong on the fact that we can't have meddling". Bush surpassed after the September 11 attacks when he had a rating of 96 percent during the same time period, the poll showed.

"That was very satisfying, especially after yesterday which was a frustrating finish, dropping two shots in the last three", he said after his round. We drowned sorrows for half an hour and then had a chat to a few people, it was enjoyable. "It's a amusing game".

"I just felt like that was my chance gone, but as it transpired today was a good round in tough conditions".

He defended what some might consider an undisciplined approach to a major championship, saying that he did not always drink during tournaments.

Pepperell teed off at 11.40 a.m. local time with Phil Mickelson. "Sometimes I'd have a few drinks", he added. He was waiting around and talking to media when he noticed Tiger Woods was making his move.

Italy's Francesco Molinari won his first major by capturing The Open title, three shots ahead of Pepperell, who admitted he might have a wine to celebrate.
