A British man was found guilty on Wednesday of a plot to kill Prime Minister Theresa May by first detonating an explosive device to get into her Downing Street office and then using a knife or a gun to attack her.
Details of the violent plans of Naa'imur Zakariyah Rahman were heard at the Old Bailey where he has been on trial with another man, 22-year-old Mohammad Aqib Imran, accused of planning to travel overseas either to Libya or Syria to engage in terrorism.
In November previous year, he was arrested after he told undercover officers that he was planning to launch an assault at Downing Street and was provided with explosives and a suicide vest.
"I want to do a suicide bomb on parliament", he said. I want to attempt to kill Theresa May.
He admitted midway through the trial to helping his friend Imran join Isis in Libya by recording an Isis sponsorship video.
Imran, 22, from south-east Birmingham, was found guilty of having a terrorist handbook after the jury deliberated for 13 hours.
Imran was charged with planning to travel overseas, either to Libya or Syria, in order to engage in terrorism.
Naa'imur Rahman, 20, of north London, was convicted, at the Old Bailey court, of preparing to commit acts of terrorism, reports Reuters.

Mr Justice Haddon-Cave told Rahman that when he returns to court on 31 August he should expect a lengthy sentence.
