Judge: FBI Agent Can Have Gun After Shooting At LoDo Nightclub

FBI agent charged in shooting while dancing gets gun back

After the Federal Bureau of Investigation agent dropped his handgun on the dance floor doing a backflip early June 2 at a Denver bar, injuring a bystander, a judge ordered him not to carry firearms on- or off-duty.

During the court appearance in Denver Mr Bishop's protection order was amended to allow him to resume carrying his service pistol both while on and off duty, a spokesman for the Denver District Attorney's office told the Denver Post. When Bishop went to pick it up, the gun discharged, hitting a man in the leg.

The hearing was scheduled for prosecutors to lay out the evidence against Bishop, but that was delayed after his lawyer said prosecutors had offered a plea deal and Bishop needed time to consider it. A judge approved the change to Chase Bishop's release conditions Tuesday.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Chase Bishop, 29, makes his first appearance in the Denver courthouse after he was charged with second-degree assault. They declined Tuesday to provide details on the offer.

Video released of the June 2 incident went viral across social media and late-night television, which allegedly shows off-duty 29-year-old Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Chase Bishop dancing at a Denver bar.

Donald Trump 'threatens to pull USA out of NATO'
A US official said Trump would be ready to talk about New Start if Putin raised it, but it was not a big USA priority. It remains unclear if any commitments were made to speed up spending.

Cellphone video shows the 29-year-old agent doing a backflip, the gun flying out of its holster.

Bishop turned himself in on June 12th and the next day, a judge granted the lowest level of supervision, freeing him on a $1,000 bond and allowing him to return to Washington where he lives and works. Trying to be slick about it, the off-duty Federal Bureau of Investigation agent tried to pick up his gun, which discharged and wounded 24-year Thomas Reddington in his leg.

The agent was then seen placing the gun back into his holster before walking off the dance floor.

The man, identified as Tom Reddington, is recovering. He hired a lawyer who advertises locally about large payouts he's gotten for his clients. Reddington, 24, told ABC's Good Morning America that he originally thought the shot was "some idiot" setting off a firecracker. I'm not vindictive at all. I don't want to ruin his life. At this point, there's nothing we can do to fix it.
