Nishikori beats out-of-sorts Kyrgios to reach last 16

Wim Aust Kyrgios

Kei Nishikori advanced to the fourth round of Wimbledon on Saturday with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 victory over Australian Nick Kyrgios.

Neither the crowd nor a big mistake by the umpire could unglue Djokovic, though, as the three-time champion won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 to reach the round of 16 for the 11th time.

"I think I had to break him earlier in the second set.this would have turned the match".

"He's always like a big war for me". Obviously getting broken first game didn't help me. It will be Djokovic's 41st appearance in a Grand Slam quarterfinal and he will start favourite against Nishikori who will be in his first last-eight at the All England Club.

"Stop assuming you know what's best for others when you think you've had a little success. we get it, we know you have to remain relevant, but I'll give you a heads up, we don't care what you have to say".

"My elbow was bothering me".

Nishikori, runner-up at the 2014 U.S. Open, won the Court Two match on the second match point in the following game when Gulbis, now limping badly, hit a return long. "To go there and not really enjoy the moment, I think that's the part I regret the most", she said.

Former finalist Angelique Kerber struck 23 winners in a 6-2 6-4 win over Japan's Naomi Osaka to reach the second week at Wimbledon for a third year in a row.

Although excited, Cardi admitted that she was also initially anxious when she found out that she was expecting. The Migos member has two sons, Jordan and Kody, and a daughter, Kalea, from previous relationships.

Nishikori's win, which came at the 10th attempt, made him the first Japanese since Shuzo Matsuoka in 1995 to secure a quarterfinal berth at the All England Club.

He will advance to the fourth round of Wimbledon for the third time in 10 appearances to face qualifier Ernests Gulbis of Latvia, now ranked at 138th in the world. That precipitated a lengthy absence from the tour and a worrying dip in form and confidence. Making her fourth appearance at Wimbledon, Ostapenko will look to improve on her run to the quarter-finals a year ago.

Djokovic said the past year had been frustrating, but his recent performances have left him optimistic.

Djokovic's run to the Queen's final on the eve of Wimbledon was his first appearance in a championship match since Eastbourne nearly 12 months earlier.

"I think you feel more, not angry, but eager to play your best". Not much I can do really.

That was a boost after a shock quarterfinal exit at the French Open to world number 72 Marco Cecchinato of Italy. "I just struggled with a lot of things today", he said. "Indian Wells, Miami, most of the clay court season", added Djokovic.

"I was a top-three player for so many years in a row, it was quite a unusual feeling for me not to be able to deliver my game that I know that I possess, that I know I've been delivering for so many years".
