Russia will "help with North Korea": Donald Trump

North Korea to Hand Over Up to 55 Sets of US Remains Soon: Reports

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Russian Federation would help with North Korea and offered an enthusiastic update on the US process of negotiating with the antagonistic Asian nation over nuclear weapons.

The accord did not have a timetable for the process or plan to carry it out.

Trump last week signaled optimism however, unveiling a letter from Kim in which the young leader hailed the "start of a meaningful journey" and tweeting "Great progress being made!"

West said of Mr Trump: "You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him".

"Discussions are ongoing and they're going very, very well. We have no speed limit".

The apparent change of heart comes as the US' relationship with Pyongyang is "very good", and the American "hostages" are back, according to Trump. There have been no tests.

The president said he might ask for Putin to send the dozen Russians who were indicted by the Mueller probe to the United States. He said in the CBS interview that he's going into the meeting with "low expectations" but believes "it's a good thing to meet".

Trump's remarks come days after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said "firm commitments" were made during a meeting between USA and North Korea officials at the Demilitarized Zone to discuss the repatriation of American service members' remains from the Korean War.

Retired NBA basketball star Dennis Rodman has said he would like to introduce rapper Kanye West to Kim Jong Un so he can write a song about North Korea.

Trump made the comments in a series of early morning tweets after his highly criticized meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Finland and his visit with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries.

Before the Singapore summit, the Trump administration said denuclearisation should start "without delay", and after the meeting, it spoke of the process beginning "very quickly".

The White House has hailed the summit between Kim and Trump in Singapore as a major breakthrough toward disarming the isolated, nuclear-armed North in exchange for easing of sanctions and other help with economic development.

Speaking at a press conference in the United Kingdom last week, the USA president said negotiations with Pyongyang would be "probably a longer process than anybody would like".
