Scotland Secretary says Trump's visit to country will help 'strengthen vital links'

The embassy advised Americans in the country to be aware of their surroundings, "keep a low profile", exercise caution if large gatherings are present, and monitor local media reports for updates. The first Labour Live event has been organised by the Labour Party.

The bulk of the activity will take place in London, where people plan to gather first in Regent's Park outside of the USA ambassador's house on Thursday and again across central London for a series of protests throughout the day on Friday.

More than 50,000 people have signed up to demonstrate in London on Friday when protesters intend to fly a large balloon over parliament portraying Trump as an orange, snarling baby.

"Donald Trump could do perfectly fine doing rallies in the United States".

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, a frequent Trump critic, gave his approval for the balloon to be floated, with a spokesperson saying last week that the mayor "supports the right to peaceful protest and understand that this can take many different forms".

In an alert on Tuesday, the U.S. Embassy in London warned citizens about "numerous demonstrations" planned between Thursday and Sunday that could "attract large crowds" less than friendly to U.S. citizens.

Mr Mundell said he is looking forward to welcoming the president.

Liverpool willing to pay 90 million for Juventus' Dybala
A £53m deal with Lyon fell through at the last minute prior to the World Cup due to concerns over his medical and knee history. It remains unclear whether Liverpool will make another move for Fekir after the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer.

Trump postponed his trip several times as a petition to block him from entering the United Kingdom gained so many signatures that it was debated in parliament.

The petition against Trump claimed an official state visit would be embarrassing for the Queen. It was an extraordinary rebuke from a close ally. May will host Trump and tuxedo-clad government ministers and representatives of fund managers BlackRock and Blackstone Group, as well as Arup and drinks manufacturer Diageo, for a dinner of Scottish salmon, beef and strawberries and clotted cream ice cream to discuss post-Brexit trade.

On Thursday, Trump will travel to Blenheim Palace, the 18th-century mansion where Britain's World War Two leader Winston Churchill was born and spent most of his childhood.

On Friday, demonstrators are expected to gather near Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence, where May and Trump will hold a working lunch.

Along with trade and security links, Downing Street said key areas to be discussed between the two leaders included Russia, Brexit and the Middle East.

Later, Trump will go to Windsor Castle for tea with 92-year-old Queen Elizabeth.

As part of the visit, Mrs Trump will meet veterans and schoolchildren in London on Friday, accompanied by the PM's husband Philip May.
