'Tell people not to come to our country illegally'

Jones 'I'm not in favor of abolishing ICE'

A Department of Justice lawyer acknowledged Monday that the administration would not be able to reunite all of the roughly 100 children under age 5 in federal custody by Tuesday's deadline imposed by a judge in California. "Tell people not to come to our country illegally".

Addressing questions about the missed deadline before departing the White House on Tuesday for Europe, Trump says, "That's the solution". Come like other people do.

When asked if he means that he is punishing the children, Trump doubled down.

As of late Tuesday afternoon, four children of 102 identified for the deadline had already been reunified with their parents, and another 34 were expected to be reunited by the end of the day, according to the administration.

The children had been separated starting in early May under Trump's "zero tolerance" policy, which called for the prosecution of immigrants crossing the border illegally. That's the solution. Don't come to our country illegally.

He added, "I'm saying this, very simply. It's not a good thing".

Gary Neville's World Cup predictions are very impressive in hindsight
The two sides face off in Moscow, with the victor going on to play either Belgium or France in the final of the tournament. If they're similarly open against France , Les Bleus can punish them by displaying a more ruthless streak than Brazil did.

Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project, said: "The court is holding the Trump administration's feet to the fire to get these kids reunited with their parents".

The family-separation issue has prompted protests around the country against the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

"As far as ICE is concerned, the people that are fighting ICE?"

"[ICE agents] go into harm's way. We want to support ICE, not what the Democrats are doing", Trump said.

Trump said Democrats want open borders and are soft on stopping crime. "Remember this - without borders, you do not have a country".
