Treyarch reveals CoD: Black Ops 4 multiplayer and battle royale beta details

Black Ops 4 blackout beta teaser

As expected, Playstation 4 players will get exclusive access to the Mulitplayer beta from August 3-6, before those on Xbox One and PC get a chance later on in the month.

According to the official announcement, the multiplayer beta starts first on PlayStation 4 on August 3 (with Xbox to follow one week later) and the Blackout beta starts first on PlayStation 4 in September.

Activision has announced two separate betas for Black Ops 4's standard multiplayer and the new Battle Royale Blackout mode.

When is the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4" beta?

As mentioned, if you want to dive into Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's multiplayer beta for yourself, then be sure to head over to Amazon now to pre-order a copy of the game to ensure that you can gain access. It'll also have Control - the new objective-based mode. Pre-ordering from a retailer should get you a code to redeem on the Call of Duty website while pre-ordering digitally should just grant you automatic access when the beta goes live. There's a unique beta test calling card, and for players who hit max rank in the beta, there's one permanent unlock token that they'll be able to use on any piece of Create-A-Class content. The latest in the Call of Duty franchise is giving players their own take on the battle royale genre with their upcoming "Blackout" mode and now we know when players can get their hands on it early before its launch in September! Each team has a limited number of lives in this first-to-three wins match-up. The Gear slot offers special perks usable across all classes that don't impact the 10 slots in your loadout. It's set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 12. This initial private beta will only be available to those playing on PS4. Is there enough here to make these tests worth the pre-order?
