U.K. Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson Resigns Over Brexit

Boris Johnson and David Davis

So, as things stand, although a number of Conservative MPs are clearly unhappy with how May is handling Brexit, they are a vocal minority, without the numbers to actually remove the prime minister.

But it soon began to unravel when Davis resigned late on Sunday and launched a no-holds-barred attack on her plan, calling it "dangerous" and one which would give "too much away, too easily" to European Union negotiators, who would simply ask for more.

It started on Sunday night, when Brexit Secretary David Davis - ie. the man specifically appointed to ensure a smooth Brexit - chose to Brexit himself out of the actual government. He says the Brexit "dream is dying, suffocated by needless self-doubt", and that Britain is "headed to the status of a colony", having to swallow European Union writ without "any ability to influence these laws as they are made".

"The prime minister began by welcoming the new members of the cabinet and those who have new roles". He built a public profile on Latin quips and rumpled eccentricity, while nurturing a poorly concealed ambition to lead his country.

Ms Caulfield supported Leave in the European Union referendum, and Mr Bradley backed Remain.

The majority of MPs are in favour of preserving frictionless trade across the UK-EU border and the open border on the island of Ireland.

Britain's cabinet discussed the so-called white paper Brexit policy document and stepping up preparations for a no-deal exit, Prime Minister Theresa May's spokesman said on Tuesday.

The reshuffle is expected to continue as Mrs May attempts to stamp her authorities following the Chequers summit last Friday.

Top Brexiteer Michael Gove, an ally of Mr Davis, Mr Johnson and also Mrs May, said everybody was "in very good spirits".

Henderson hopeful on fitness for World Cup semi-final
Vardy was an unused substitute in England's quarter-final win over Sweden on Saturday after picking up a groin injury last week. This trend has powered the rise of teams that traditionally do not do well in World Cups .

Of course it is still possible that May will ultimately decide of her own volition to quit. The timetable looks increasingly optimistic.

"And I think without David Davis there, without his imprimatur, it will be very hard for them to get the support of Conservative MPs and therefore the Prime Minister would be well advised to reconsider them".

Mrs May set out in the House of Commons her Brexit model. I have met many people with different views.

Hunt, the MP for South West Surrey, has served as Health Secretary since 2012.

"I'd have to deliver this".

"I'd have to be the champion of the policy that I didn't believe in". "That's not a tenable position".

He added that he would not run for the leadership of the Conservative Party in the future.

But leading pro-Brexit legislator Jacob Rees-Mogg said "I don't think a no-confidence vote is immediately in the offing". He urged May to abandon her plans and take a tougher line with Brussels.
