Wand-waving Johnny Depp appears as 'Fantastic Beasts' character

The second film in what will be a five-film event will bring several popular characters from the Harry Potter movies into the light. The famed wizard was introduced in the Potter series as Hogwarts' headmaster.

It also made more than $800 million and scored the very first Oscar for a Wizarding World film. The trailer begins with young Newt Scamander, who would write the definitive guide to the Fantastic Beasts within JK Rowling's incredibly detailed magical universe, attending Professor Dumbledore's class (who was a professor of Transfiguration at that time). Not only did a new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald drop during Warner Bros.

Silence fell over the audience inside Hall H of the San Diego Convention Centre as 55-year-old Depp - dressed in black and with bleached white hair - addressed the audience.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone along with Johnny Depp as the aforementioned Gellert Grindelwald and Brontis Jodorowsky as alchemist Nicolas Flamel. A trailer for the film was also released at Comic-Con, and the visuals look stunning.

A third said: "SDCC putting Johnny Depp on the same panel as Amber Heard is fucking irresponsible and gross as it is".

But it is the nod to the Deathly Hallows that's likely to get them the most excited, as the Elder Wand is briefly seen in Grindelwald's possession.

As he says this, Dumbledore is looking into the Mirror of Erised, first seen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

In the Wizarding World's darkest hour Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) turns to his timid former student Newt Scamander, a socially awkward magizoologist who has just returned from an adventure in New York City where he had unearthed the notorious dark wizard Grindelwald.
