Husband arrested for murder in connection to disappearance of wife, children

Shanann Watts daugthers

The announcement comes just hours after her husband, Christopher Watts, 33, was arrested. She has seen Chris Watts pull his daughters along the sidewalk in a wagon while walking their dachshund, but said the family has always been quiet.

Watts' husband, Chris Watts, was the last known person to see her.

Beach says he talked to her a couple of times about her daughters and life in Colorado.

"I don't know what to do right now. She seemed pretty happy".

"It's not something I could ever, ever fathom would happen in my lifetime, and I have no inclination of where she is", he told ABC 7. "That's when I was just like alright something's not right if she's not answering the door, the auto was here - I gotta go home", said Watts.

The two officials told the news station they believe they know where the bodies of 34-year-old Shanann Watts and her daughters, 3-year-old Bella and 4-year-old Celeste, are and were in the process of recovering them.

The FBI and Colorado Bureau of Investigation have also been investigating the case.

The Frederick Police Department announced early Thursday that Chris Watts was taken into custody. He hasn't been charged yet, and it isn't known if he has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf.

Shanann Watts and her two daughters had been the subject of an intense search since they were reported missing on Monday.

Among the things that puzzled investigators is that Shanann Watts' purse and medications for the children were found at her house.

The three were reported missing Monday, according to news releases from Frederick police.

The Frederick Police Department, the CBI and the Federal Bureau of Investigation canvassed the area and on Wednesday night, arrested 33-year-old Christopher Watts.
