Kasey Kahne to retire from full-time NASCAR racing after 2018 season

Kahne said in a Twitter post that he is at ease with the decision after 15 years racing in NASCAR.

Sadler, 43, announced Wednesday morning that 2018 would be his final full-time season in NASCAR.

Just 24 hours earlier, fellow NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler shocked fans when he announced his retirement from full-time racing, also at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

Kahne enjoyed a fast start to his career, winning 11 times in his first six seasons, but tapered off in subsequent seasons with Red Bull Racing, Hendrick Motorsports and Leavine.

Trump slams media as 'opposition party' while papers defend free press
Mr Freeman wrote that the president has the right to free speech as much as his media adversaries. The Globe's Opinion department, which is separate from its news operations, organized the effort.

"I'm not sure what the future holds for me", Kahne said. Racing in Cup full time for a few more years was just something that I couldn't commit to.

Citing the toll the "grueling schedule" has taken, Kahne said he plans to spend more time with his son, Tanner, and with his sprint vehicle teams. "I need to spend more time doing the things I enjoy and love and that's spending time with Tanner and my sprint vehicle teams".

I've had a great career in racing and met so many wonderful people and fans along the way, some that I'll remain in touch with for life. Kahne won 18 races at NASCAR's highest level with some notables including three Coca-Cola 600s and his last win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017.

Kahne exploded onto the racing scene during his NASCAR rookie year in 2004 - posting 13 Top 5 finishes. He also has eight career wins in the Xfinity Series in 215 starts, and five wins in the Camping World Truck Series in six starts.
