Kevin Spacey's Billionaire Boys Club earns $126 on opening day

Kevin Spacey in a trailer for Ridley Scott's new movie before he was cut

The film opened in 10 theaters around the country on Friday (August 17) after being available on VOD for the past month.

The film "Billionaire Boys Club" ― the first movie featuring Kevin Spacey to be released since the 59-year-old actor was accused by multiple people of sexual misconduct ― reportedly made less than $130 on its first day in theaters.

Put another way, that's a per location average of $12.60, which doesn't even equal two tickets if going by the current average ticket price of $9.27.

Kevin Spacey's latest film has tanked at the box office after taking in a record-breaking low of just (£98) on its opening night in USA cinemas.

Dressing this way is meant to show that everyone is equal before Allah. "They say charity begins at home", he said. Abraj Al-Bait (translates to "The Towers of the House") overlooks the Great Mosque of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Despite its all star cast - including Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton, Emma Roberts, Jeremy Irvine, Cary Elwes, Judd Nelson, and Billie Lourd - it brought in an abysmal $126 in total.

The poor performance marks an unprecedented box office low for the Oscar victor, whose status as one of Hollywood's most revered talents was tarnished late previous year after a slew of sexual misconduct allegations emerged against him. That's only $12.60 per cinema - the average cinema ticket price is the U.S. is around $9, suggesting some screens had only one person, or even none, see the film.

Vertical Entertainment, the distributor of the movie, had previously released a statement imploring moviegoers to enjoy the film despite Spacey's role, which the company characterized as minor and said it hoped would not take away from the overall production.

The crime drama is based on a real-life investing and social club of the same name that made headlines in California in the 1980s when the group was exposed as a Ponzi scheme in the course of two high-profile murder trials. "In the end, we hope audiences make up their own minds as to the reprehensible allegations of one person's past, but not at the expense of the entire cast and crew present on this film".
