Mars is the closest it has been to Earth in 15 years

The minimum distance from the Earth to Mars is about 33.9 million miles

Tuesday, Mars will be at its absolute closest to earth, at just under 36.8 million miles.

According to EarthSky, since July7, Mars has been the brightest object in the night sky, after the moon and Venus, and will be, through September 7.

"The Red Planet and Earth haven't been this close since 2003, and won't be again until 2035", NASA said. However, Elon Musk is still dreaming of the first Mars colony and sees the Red Planet as a future place where people can live.

On July 27, Mars was at opposition, meaning that the Sun and the Red Planet came opposite to each other, keeping the Earth in the middle. However, according to scientists from University of Colorado, Boulder in the US, Mars does not retain enough carbon dioxide that could practically be put back into the atmosphere to warm the planet.

This process of colonising other planets is known as terraforming when it refers to shaping their environments so they are more like Earth. The best view of Mars will be visible from the Southern Hemisphere as it sits at a relatively short distance of 35.8 million miles away.

Moreover, there's a dual-camera with a fingerprint sensor placed in the centre, beneath the cameras. In a new Galaxy Note 9 teaser video, Samsung shows the history of Note series and how it evolved.

Mars makes a close approach to Earth and sparkles in the evening sky near Tokyo Skytree, the tallest free-standing broadcasting tower in the world, in Tokyo's Sumida Ward on July 31, 2018.

The perihelion opposition of 2003 was unusually close-NASA said the two planets won't get that close together again until August 28, 2287.

Unfortunately, weather conditions might make it hard to see Mars clearly. Planetwide dust storms might obscure features, which even a small telescope would usually be able to pick out, with Mars being so close.

Experts warn that today we will see a phenomenon that only happens every few years.
