Pochettino reiterates his commitment to Tottenham Hotspur

Alan Smith predicts where Tottenham are going to finish

The forthcoming match is Tottenham's second of the season, but their first at their temporary home of Wembley Stadium.

Pochettino effectively ruled out the prospect of Tottenham playing the game at an alternative venue to the new stadium or Wembley and conceded he and his squad may have to accept they will be forced to fulfil the City fixture on a heavily cut up pitch 24 hours after the National Football League game.

Twickenham Stadium in London and Stadium MK in Milton Keynes have both been presented as potential alternatives, as has playing the game at City's Etihad Stadium. "If you ask me if we can't play in the new stadium, we need to find a way to play at Wembley".

"Maybe we need to adapt".

Meanwhile, in other news Pochettino has apologised to supporters for the new stadium delay (see below).

Ahead of Fulham's visit to the national stadium on Saturday, Pochettino said: "I think we all feel disappointed of course, with the announcement from the club this week". I don't believe there will be too much movement because we cannot sign, but different individual things can happen. He made a massive effort, I feel it every day. "I want to see the players here are ready to commit to January".

A late return of nine World Cup semi-finalists, mixed in with the stadium chaos and a summer free of signings has left fans concerned the club are in for a tough 10 months.

Davis Cup reform: Nations vote for 18-team season-ending event
The Davis Cup , founded in 1900, is one of the world's largest global team competitions with 132 nations taking part in 2018. The winners, along with the next two teams with the best records, will advance to the single-elimination quarterfinals.

"Then in 20 years, I am going to be remembered for winning the Premier League".

"That is the only way we can act and repay the effort that they are doing for the club".

Meanwhile, with the Premier League transfer window closed, Spurs can no longer add to their squad - but their players can still move overseas, and Pochettino said there could be departures. "I'm not going to set an excuse. All people here need to feel they can be part of the team, and help the team any time the manager commands". Maybe they are going to move.

Left-back Danny Rose has been linked to a move overseas, and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and academy graduate Josh Onomah could also be loaned out.

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that several of Tottenham's players could be on the move before the close of the European transfer window, despite the club not making any new additions to their squad this summer.

"He's a little bit behind the rest but we're working".
