H12 smith college police called on black student

Oumou Kanoute is a summer teaching assistant at Smith College, but on Tuesday, an employee called campus police to investigate her as someone who seemed out of place at a school building.

McCartney said Smith staff members will be required to participate in mandatory anti-bias training beginning in the fall and the school would host a series of workshops for faculty and staff focused on "topics of identity, inclusion, bias-response and bias-prevention".

Kanoute has demanded that Smith release the name of the staffer who called police on her, but the college has so far refused.

The school says there was nothing suspicious.

The woman who was the victim of the discriminatory attack is now working on the campus over the summer as a teaching assistant.

"I am blown away at the fact that I can not even sit down and eat lunch peacefully", Kanoute said on her Facebook page.

"Why are you here", the officer can be heard on a cell phone recording that Kanoute took.

Within minutes, a white police officer walked up to her and asked, "We were wondering what you were doing here?" The school is also launching an investigation. Administrators have also confirmed that the employee who racially profiled Kanoute has been suspended. "I can't sleep or eat, and all I want is this person to understand the predicament they've put me in".

Assassination by drone? Venezuela's President avoids plot to kill
The ANC urges the government of Venezuela to get to the bottom of these attacks and to do everything to arrest this scourge. One of the drones was to explode above the president while the other was to detonate directly in front of him, he added.

On Friday, Kanoute declined an interview and said she needed time and couldn't talk about her experience.

Second, Kanoute demanded a private conversation between her, the employee and the administration that addresses the "reconciliation and acknowledgement of this wrongdoing from the employee and the college".

"I was just walking through here in the front foyer of [REDACTED] and we have a person sitting there laying down in the living room area over here". "U$3 mm ... I don't see anybody in the building at this point and uh I don't know what he's doing in there just laying on the couch". "This person didn't try to bring their concerns forward to me, but instead made a decision to call the police".

The name of the employee has not yet been released.

The dispatcher tells the caller someone will be sent to "check it out".

That probe is being conducted by Sanghavi Law Office, which Hunter said will "conduct a thorough, external investigation".

The school says they aren't releasing the employee's name because college policy requires records released to have references to involved parties removed.
