Resident Evil 2 will get a £700 premium edition

Resident Evil 2’s $1200 Premium Edition Has A Very Nice Bluetooth Type Writer Shannon Grixti

Setting aside the fact that Qwerkywriter's keyboard doesn't resemble the in-game typewriter, this isn't a bad collector's edition when combined with everything from the previous set.

Officially called the Biohazard RE: 2 Z Version Premium Edition in Japan, the set's main feature is a mechanical keyboard created to resemble a traditional Lexington typewriter, which are iconic of the early Resident Evil titles, as they served as in-game save points. It's no surprise to see versions of games costing a couple hundred dollars or more and including anything from mini statues to movie DVDs to a bunch of useless crap.

The Lexington Vintage Typewriter Bluetooth Keyboard, made in collaboration with Qwerkytoys the United States, can be purchased separately for 75,000 yen ($675) plus tax. While the game comes in several different collector's edition configurations on the Japanese site, the centerpiece is a working bluetooth and USB keyboard modeled after the series' iconic typewriter. As if that wasn't enough it also includes four pieces of masking tape (disguised as type ribbon). What do you think of the Z Version Premium Edition?

Below you can check out the assets shared with the press release, including artwork of Leon using the snazzy keyboard. Worth the price? Let us know in the comments. That being said, I'm not a betting man.

Pre-orders are open if you're interested in securing one, and you'll likely have to utilize a Japanese shopping liaison to do so, but it will cost you.

Resident Evil 2 will launch on January 25th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
