Tencent Gets Regulatory Rebuke Over Hit Game
Monster Hunter: World which was first released on PS4 on January 26th is the latest title of its series and is also the very first title for the current PlayStation.
Despite the delay, fans have been told that while the PC version will "have parity with the console versions" (thanks, PC Gamer), "special collaborations and other additional content that has been released post-launch [for consoles] will be coming to PC for free at a later date".
Citing regulatory requirements, the Chinese government has saw it fit to block the sales of Capcom's Monster Hunter: World in the country.
According to Capcom, it is investigating these connection errors for Monster Hunter World PC and hopes to fix them as soon as possible.
Tencent said authorities received numerous complaints about the game, but it did not specify which aspects were deemed problematic. Due to the large number of complaints, the government quickly made a decision to revoke the operating license of Tencent.
Tencent's shares fell 2.2% in Hong Kong trading by 9.50am on Tuesday.

In recent months, Tencent has faced many difficulties with establishing and maintaining its gaming operations.
Last quarter, Tencent's gaming business boosted revenues for the company.
In addition to the Tencent stock drop, which occurred on Monday, the company has seen a 15 percent slide in its stock price since June.
Monster Hunter World is now available for PC but not without problems of its own. Tencent acquired the license to sell the game to PC users in China. In the new title, many elements were designed specifically to cater more to the Western audiences, allowing for more freeform online play and less forced direction.
He said the block follows concern over Tencent's ability to monetise popular game PlayerUnknown Battleground (PUBG), which it was forced to alter past year after the regulator branded it too gory and violent.
