Australian PM Scott Morrison apologises for weird social media video

Australia's new PM Scott Morrison has been described as relentless ambitious and hard-line

Discussing the short clip, which showed members of the Coalition raising their hands in Parliament to 2004 hit's hook, Morrison said "a bit of fun but it's quite clear that that's not a song that's on my playlist".

The song has several explicit lyrics.

Despite the video being deleted from all of Mr Morrison's accounts, social media users retained the clip and it's still easily accessible on Twitter. "You got a hundred dollar bill, get your hands up!"

The tweet appeared to be a lighthearted joke, with Mr Morrison's caption declaring Question Time was "on fire".

The Prime Minister has been forced to remove a video, tweeted from his personal profile, dubbing some of his antics to a song by US R & B star Fatman Scoop, after criticism the lyrics were inappropriate.

Hurricane Florence smashes into US East Coast, rescuers scramble
Susan Faulkenberry Panousis has stayed in her Bald Head Island, North Carolina home during prior hurricanes, but not this time. Mayor Joe Benson said the storm will batter the oceanside town through two high-tide periods. "Flooding is nearly guaranteed".

You got a 50 dollar bill put your hands up.

The clip was posted to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram on Thursday before being taken down. When I found out, I asked the team to take it down.

Later parts of the song, not in the brief snippet that featured in the post, include expletives and sexual references.

While it is unlikely Morrison would have played any role in choosing the soundtrack or even considering what goal the clip might have served, the freaky post will raise questions about his staffing arrangements and if his team is equipped for the job of working in the Prime Minister's office following his sudden promotion to the job. "I think people think Australians think politicians can take themselves a bit too seriously at times".

Labor MPs were quick to join the mockery online. Were there meetings? We're other songs considered?
