Hurricane Florence: Over 188,000 without power as monster storm batters Carolinas
Since issuing a mandatory evacuation order Wednesday, nearly all of the more than 2500 residents left the island. Florence is forecast to dump up to three feet (almost a meter) of rain in some areas.

Mazzie made her Broadway debut in 1985 in the Huckleberry Finn musical Big River. She also performed as a Broadway replacement in Into the Woods. She met Danieley when both appeared in the Off Broadway 1996 production Trojan Women: A Love Story.

Other stage credits include 2002's Man of La Mancha (which reteamed her with Ragtime's Brian Stokes Mitchell), Spamalot, Next to Normal, Off Broadway's revival of Carrie and, just this year and also Off Broadway, Terrence McNally's Fire and Air. They released Opposite You, an album of duets, in 2005, and wrote an autobiographical cabaret show titled He Said/She Said. Ms. Mazzie subsequently replaced Tony victor Sara Ramirez as The Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, and replaced Tony victor Alice Ripley in the lead role of Diana in the musical Next to Normal, about a woman and her family coming to grips with mental illness, at last sharing the Broadway stage with Danieley, who stepped into the role of Dan.

The star was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in 2015. She was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame in 2017.

While Ms. Mazzie's career focused primarily on stage work, she enjoyed a successful run from 2003 to 2006 as the religious Kathy Halverson in five episodes of the CBS sitcom Still Standing.
