Destiny 2 Breakthrough mode arrives next week with new maps

Destiny 2 Gambit Mode Free This Weekend

Beginning September 21 (10 am PST / 1 pm EST) and running through September 23, Gambit can be enjoyed by all, not just those that purchased Forsaken.

Destiny 2's new PvP mode Breakthrough will launch on Tuesday, September 25 alongside four new Crucible maps, Bungie announced in a blog post today.

All Destiny 2 players can access the "Forsaken" DLC's Gambit mode this weekend, regardless of whether they own the expansion. Well then the game has you covered lately, with its Crucible and a variety of modes.

In Breakthrough, at the start of each round players will fight to capture a central zone.

Makers unveil the teaser of ‘Varma’ on Dhruv Vikram's birthday today
" Varma " marks the debut of Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv and he is seen with beard on a bike with the female lead behind him. Dhruv Vikram gives a debut into the industry through this movie. " Varma " is expected to strike the box office in November.

For those taking on Gambit for the first time, Bungie has a quick-and-dirty strategy guide that breaks down the basics, including the proper way to deposit motes and summon Blockers-those are the enemies you can send to make life more hard for the other team-and why it's important not to let your guard down when victory is within reach. If you are in the process of hacking the enemy team's Vault when time runs out, you will enter Sudden Death until you either hack the Vault, or the enemy removes all your progress. There will also be new maps crafted to complement the game type.

First team to win three rounds takes the match. Private Breakthrough matches will be available starting September 25.

You can read Bungie's description of the new mode below, as well as check out some images of the new maps in the image gallery.
