Low cabin pressure causes nosebleed, Jet Airways flight returns to Mumbai

Plane passengers suffer nose & ear bleeding as crew ‘forgot’ to maintain cabin pressure

Jet Airways said in a statement that Thursday morning's flight had turned back "due to loss in cabin pressure" and "regretted" the inconvenience caused to its passengers.

The Income-Tax investigation department has conducted a survey on the Jet Airways' Delhi and Mumbai premises.

"During climb, the crew forgot to select bleed switch due to which cabin pressurization could not be maintained", the official at aviation regulator DGCA said.

The carrier is among those struggling to make money in the Indian market, where competition has driven fares below cost. "Some of us experienced nose bleeding and headache", Darshak Hathi, a passenger said. Another passenger, Satish Nair, claimed after the cabin pressure dropped, there were "no staff" to help and no instructions given when the oxygen masks deployed.

Some passengers even suffered from severe headache.

Trump visits the Carolinas after Florence
While the president's son suggested Cooper tells lies to make his father look bad, Cooper said it was Trump telling lies. North and SC both backed Trump in the 2016 election, and the president largely saw people who were happy to greet him.

There were 166 passengers and 5 crew members on board flight 9W 697.

An investigation has been launched by the aviation ministry and the cockpit crew have been suspended from duties amid allegations pilots "forgot" to turn a switch to regulate cabin pressure.

All the passengers were treated at the Mumbai airport, but five of them were taken to Dr Balabhai Nanavati Hospital for a medical check where doctors said they suffered from mild conductive deafness, PTI reported. It went on to add that the plane landed normally as guests "deplaned safely" and taken to terminal.

After the flight's all three Instrument Landing System (ILS) receivers on board malfunctioned, the pilot says, "They are stuck, and there is no fuel". According to some reports, the crew have been taken off duty pending inquiry.

"Thirty out of 166 passengers experienced nose and ear bleeding, some also complained of a headache", informed news agency ANI. The plane, scheduled to travel from Mumbai to Jaipur, promptly turned around and returned to the airport.
