Analyst Looks at Democrats' House, Senate Prospects

Rassemblement à Chicago contre la politique

Republican and Democratic Senate leaders reached a broad deal Thursday to confirm a package of 15 judges that will allow the senators to depart Washington until after Election Day.

Henderson said in a press release earlier this month that the misconduct claims were filed after Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings, which began on September 4. Senate Democrats have many vulnerable incumbents, and Senate Majority Leader McConnell had vowed to stay in session until October 26 to get the judicial nominees confirmed. North Dakota Republican Kevin Cramer now leads Democrat Heidi Heitkamp (who recently said she made a decision to vote against Kavanaugh after watching his testimony with the sound off) by 12 points, according to a recent Fox News poll.

And with the rules changes in the Senate - spearheaded by Democrats back in 2012 - which eliminated the use of the 60 vote filibuster against judicial nominees, there isn't much Democrats can do to stop those Trump nominations, unless Republicans refuse to support the choices.

Halloween Star Jamie Lee Curtis Responds to Claims She's Anti-Gun
Although if Jamie Lee Curtis is ever being stalked by a vicious serial killer in real life, she too, may opt to reach for a gun. What do you think of the Curtis versus Fox conflict? The film will hit the theaters on October 19.

If you somehow (stupidly) thought the controversy surrounding Brett Kavanaugh - or should I say Justice Privileged the White - would fade just because he's been elevated to the Supreme Court, well you haven't been paying attention.

"Elections matter and I would like my colleagues to be able to go home", she said.

With the House and the Senate closing up shop until after the US midterm elections, it seems fitting to take a look at what the makeup of the respective chambers will look like in 2019, and what that means for legislation. He says Republicans suffered in that year's midterms because voters "felt sympathy" for Clinton. At this point it seems likely that anger and accusations will swirl around the Justice for quite a while, and having open ethics complaints looked into by the Tenth Circuit isn't going to help matters much.
