Andreas Christensen warns he may leave Chelsea due to lack of games

Chelsea Sarri Christensen

Chelsea defender, Andreas Christensen has warned manager, Maurizio Sarri that he will hand in a transfer request if he doesn't secure a regular role at the Stamford Bridge.

"It has been a hard season".

"Right now, it's not a good season for me, but I have to find some way to get back on", he said.

"I can not show so much patience again".

"How? I do not know, but it's up to me to figure that out".

David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger have been preferred as Sarri's first-choice centre-back pairing, with Christensen starting the Blues' two Europa League games and the Carabao Cup win at Liverpool.

'It's too early to talk about when to change or if I'm going to change.

"Obviously the most important thing is the club, but I have to look at my situation".

In 2014 England lost the series here 5-2 and three days after the tour finished, Alastair Cook was sacked as captain to be replaced by Eoin Morgan .

"It has been difficult to get into the team, and when we get the good results that we now do, it will only be even harder".

"So that's great, but it's really annoying that I'm not on the pitch when it happens'".

Christensen joined Chelsea in 2012 at the age of 16 from Brondby.

Sarri's centre-back strategy has already seen one Chelsea defender threaten to leave in January, with Gary Cahill stressing his unhappiness with warming the bench.

Christensen also enjoyed consistent starts during the previous two seasons, when he spent time on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

"We used the ball a lot and they wanted to play football. You get put in hard situations in Germany - every team likes to press high and you can even end up staying one vs one the whole game, so you have to think a lot and prepare yourself".

But the lack of starts for Christensen has left him frustrated.
