Another NYC Building Rips Down Its "Trump" Name

NYT Condo owners vote to strip Trump name from building

But the condos at 200 Riverside-as well as 220 and 240 Riverside-continue to be managed (though not owned) by the Trump Organization, complicating efforts for those residents to join their neighbors in purging the president's name.

Talks to remove the Trump name began in 2017 - but not everyone was on board.

The residents of a Manhattan condominium called "Trump Place" have voted to remove the president's name from the tower's facade, the latest in a string of properties that have distanced themselves from the Trump brand since Election Day 2016.

The move follows reports of losses at some of President Trump's golf courses, and decisions by several hotels that had licensed the president's name to drop it. Trump Place will now be known only by its address, 200 Riverside Boulevard.

According to the email, 69.3percent of owners who participated in a vote in September and early October said they were in favor of taking down President Trump's name. The condo board estimates the job will cost about $23,000. "We bought in the building with it".

Train kills 30 Dussehra revellers in Punjab
The train was on full speed near the Choura Bazar area of Amritsar and ran over the people who were standing on the line. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the incident and said he had asked officials to provide immediate assistance.

Another resident countered: "Arguably at one time the Trump name may have contributed something to the value of our apartments". This year, the board made a decision to ask a New York State Supreme Court judge whether they were required to keep the name in perpetuity under the agreement.

In an email to unit owners, obtained by the Washington Post, the condo board said: 'We are pleased to have resolved this matter democratically.

Trump co-developed the condo building and five others at Trump Place two decades ago. Trump no longer owns the buildings.

Trump's divisive brand of politics has provoked similar moves by other New York City buildings, including what was once the Trump SoHo hotel in Lower Manhattan.
