Cristiano Ronaldo's lawyer says rape report documents are 'complete fabrications'

Amid assault allegations Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina poses gorgeously on private jet

A statement from lawyer Peter S. Christiansen on behalf of Ronaldo said the Juventus forward "vehemently denies all of the allegations in the complaint and has consistently maintained that denial for the last nine years".

Ronaldo strongly rejects all allegations made against him by Kathryn Mayorga, who has filed a lawsuit against the footballer claiming he raped her in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009 and then dispatched a team of "fixers" to obstruct the criminal investigation and trick her into keeping quiet for $375,000.

"This hacker tried to sell such information, and a media outlet irresponsibly ended up publishing some of the stolen documents, significant parts of which were altered and / or completely fabricated". He threatened to sue after the German magazine Der Spiegel reported on the lawsuit, saying the article violated Ronaldo's personal rights.

'Cristiano Ronaldo does not deny that he agreed to enter into an settlement, but the reasons that led him to do so are being distorted.

But the statement called it "absolutely deplorable that any media outlet would support or advance such an elaborate and deliberate defamation campaign based on stolen, easily manipulated digital documents".

"Given the breach of that agreement by the other side and the inflammatory accusations that have been lodged in the ensuing days, Mr. Ronaldo feels compelled to no longer stand silent", Christiansen said in his statement.

Finch, Khawaja defy Pakistan in first Test
Just when things looked in control of Australia, Muhammad Abbas once again delivered the goods for the team. Their middle order will be held up by the Marsh brothers, Shaun and Mitchell .

'What happened was simply that Cristiano Ronaldo merely followed the advice of his advisors in order to put an end to the outrageous accusations made against him, in order to avoid attempts, such as those we are now witnessing, to destroy a reputation built thanks to hard work, athletic ability and behavioural correction'. Unfortunately, he now finds himself embroiled in the type of litigation that is all too commonplace in America.

Las Vegas police have reopened the investigation and want to question the Portuguese in the USA, although Ronaldo recently put out a statement insisting he is calm as he feels he did not commit any crime.

Ronaldo "is accustomed to being the subject of press attention that goes along with being famous", Christiansen said.

Christiansen said documents allegedly containing statements by Ronaldo are "pure inventions".

"It is my understanding that in 2015, dozens of entities [including law firms] across many different industries throughout Europe were hacked and their electronic data was stolen and captured by a cybercriminal", the statement adds.
