Google Maps Brings Real-Time ETA ‘Journey Sharing’ to iOS

Google Maps makes it easier to share your ETA with loved ones

"Journey Sharing" is a feature that the Google Maps team rolled out for Android users a year ago, which allows for folks to share their real-time location with those they approve. In an update headed out to users this week, you'll see an improved experience when sharing your location, ETA, and route.

You can also share it across 3rd party apps like Facebook Messenger, Line, WhatsApp, and more.

There's an obvious benefit to the feature: users can keep track of someone whose trip may otherwise be concerning.

Jamal Khashoggi: Pressure grows on Saudis as United States envoy meets king
Those policies are all seen as initiatives of Prince Mohammed, the son of King Salman, who is next in line to the throne. On Monday, however, Trump offered a different theory after speaking by telephone with King Salman.

To share your trip progress, tap the up arrow (^) in Maps while navigating.

The feature also provides hand-free access for individuals awaiting another person's arrival. Once the trip finishes the sharing session is automatically finished so you don't need to worry about letting someone track you after the trip is finished. Check your Play Store or App Store for the latest version of Google Maps.

Journey sharing is rolling out for driving, walking, and cycling navigation on Android and iOS for those of you in "mixed" households. You'll select those to share with from your favorite contacts.
