Israeli forces shoot dead two Palestinians along Gaza-Israel border

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman speaks at a press conference

The Israeli army said it was defending against members of the crowd who were throwing grenades and explosives at its soldiers.

Three Palestinians including a 14-year-old boy were killed by Israeli fire on Friday on the Gaza border, as clashes erupted with security forces during protests, the enclave's health ministry said.

Hamas has in response escalated and intensified the protests recently, adding locations and leading night gatherings near the fence where activists use sound bombs and laser lights to distract soldiers.

However, Israel has restricted Palestinian fishing boats to a much smaller area since it imposed an economic blockade on Gaza in 2007.

The two fishermen were apprehended while fishing two nautical miles from the shore of al-Sudaniyya district in the northern Gaza Strip, the local Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) said.

Manager Aaron Boone won't mind going to his bullpen in the sixth inning, but he needs his starters to get him there in good shape. With Brett Gardner and Giancarlo on base for the Yankees, Cora took Sale out of the game and replaced him with Ryan Brasier.

Thousands of Palestinians had gathered for a weekly protest along Israel's border fence with the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by the Islamist group Hamas.

The Israeli military said around 20,000 Palestinians took part in Friday's protests at numerous points along the Gaza border, continuing a series of demonstrations which began in March.

At least 198 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire in Gaza since March 30, while one Israeli soldier has been shot dead by a Palestinian sniper.

Gaza protesters demand an end to an Israeli and Egyptian blockade and rights to lands that Palestinian families fled or were driven from on Israel's founding in 1948.

Palestine accuses Israel of using gas and weapons, causing 121 people received gunshot wounds, and 7 are in critical condition, reports WAFA.
