Mohamed Salah injured in Egypt win

Watford

Egypt's assistant coach says Mohamed Salah's injury "doesn't look serious" after the Liverpool forward limped off late in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland.

Salah helped his national team cruise to a comprehensive 4-1 victory against their counterparts on Friday night, netting directly from a corner to cap a fine win.

Egypt had already used all three substitutions so were forced to finish the game with 10 men.

Salah appeared to pull up with a hamstring problem as the game entered stoppage time.

Liverpool fans may take heart from the fact he at least found the net in the Africa Cup of Nations Group J qualifying match at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo, albeit in a match against a side ranked 136th in the world by Federation Internationale de Football Association.

"He will be examined to determine the details, but in my opinion it is not serious".

So far this season, Salah has struggled to recapture the kind of goal-scoring form he displayed in his first campaign at Anfield - one which saw hime named PFA Player of the Year.

Highlights from Liverpool's goalless draw against Manchester City in the Premier League.

But of more immediate concern will be the Liverpool star's health status, with the Reds returning to action next Saturday against Huddersfield Town.

Egypt face a return fixture against Swaziland on Tuesday in Group J.
